Precare

  • A week before your appointment a gentle exfoliation of the area to be tattooed is very useful - this removes the dead layer of skin which is tricky to tattoo through. Repeat again 3-4 days before your appointment.

  • A few days before the appointment begin to moisturise the area to be tattooed but don't moisturise the day of the appointment.

  • Shave the area just prior to the appointment, trying to avoid any nicks (I can't tattoo over broken skin).

  • Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment, it makes your skin all lovely and ready for the ink.

Caring for Your New Tattoo

Proper aftercare is essential for the healing of your tattoo. I provide detailed aftercare instructions after your appointment tailored to the nature of handpoke tattoos, helping you maintain the vibrancy and longevity of your artwork.

Depending on the amount of friction the tattooed area gets in its day to day life I may offer you a second skin bandage. If not, the tattoo needs to be cleaned with warm water and soap once in the morning and once in the evening.

Your tattoo over it's lifetime

Tattoos need to be cared for the rest of their lives. Ideally you should keep tattoos out of the sun or use sun cream regularly.

Over time tattoos do age with the skin, there can be some fading from sun or areas that see a lot of use (such as fingers) so occasionally a top up is needed to keep them looking crisp and fresh.
