Welcome to Heartwood Tattoo Studio, nestled in the beautiful Lake District, England. I specialise in handpoke tattoos with designs drawn from this ancient land and its people. 

Handpoke tattoos are where ink is worked into the skin dot by dot. It's a gentle, slow paced way of tattooing. My studio is a safe space for all, proudly inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community and those with disabilities.

About Me

I am a handpoke tattoo artist that specialises in black and greywash dot work. My designs are heavily inspired by the Cumbrian landscape with an emphasis on its flora, fauna, history, folklore and the working of the land.

​

Tattooing was always on my dream job list and life took me in another direction but after a long and debilitating illness I had a chance to start again!

​

I studied Fine Art at university and was always drawn to the most basic versions of all the practices, with photography I chose film and cynotypes, and now with tattooing I've fallen in love with handpoke. ​I love the gentle process of hand poking each dot, how the piece slowly grows into life.

​

So, Heartwood was born, I spent years scheming and dreaming and very slowly I built it into the lovely little private studio it is today.
