A quick-fire check list to make sure the booking goes smoothly:

• you are sure you would like a tattoo! If you are unsure about design options then that's totally normal, but if you are unsure you want a tattoo at all please make sure you're ready before booking.
• you are not pregnant or trying to concieve. If you are willing to delay trying to concieve for a few weeks whilst your tattoo heals then feel free to get in touch but if this is not possible you'll have to wait until you have finished breastfeeding or your pregnancy journey has ended.
• you aren't going on holiday within a few weeks of your tattoo. The temptation to go for a swim or get a tan may be too much to withstand and the heal on your new tattoo won't be perfect.

Please fill out the form to the best of your ability - the more detail about how you envision your tattoo the better - please refrain from letting me know why you would like the tattoo at this stage just so I can get all the important information without it getting muddled. For reference photos please don't upload other artists work, you can find great inspiration in stock photos and historical & museum imagery. 

I will respond as soon as possible within working hours, which are not the usual 9-5 Mon - Fri.

Prices for a custom tattoo start at £120 and are priced per piece, not by the hour.

How long your session is is down to the size, placement and complexity of the design. I also work in pure black ink or greywash which is different opacities of black ink to give a graded, softer piece. A greywash tattoo usually takes a little longer. 

Once your deposit is paid I will contact you for a quick chat about your design a week or so before your appointment. A rough sketch will be sent for approval and then I will draw up your design and send it through a few days before your appointment.
 

Pre-Drawn Designs 

To book a flash (pre-drawn) design please click here. You can browse the pre-drawn designs, choose size and placement and immediately claim. Once you've requested a design I will offer some dates and times that suit you and to confirm the appointment a deposit will be required. 

Prices for a flash design start at £70. If you would like more than one flash design to create a compostion there will be a discount available as long as it is within the same session and on the same body.

Deposits

A deposit is required for all tattoos. I don't draw up designs before a deposit is taken. I understand that it is sometimes a bit scary paying for a deposit if you aren't sure of the outcome, however, I spend time researching, drawing and taking a great deal of care over your design so it gives me a safety net incase the appointment is not attended. Rest assured, you are never pressured into having a tattoo once we're through the design phase. We can adjust the design to find the perfect fit for you. 

Deposit for flash tattoo starts at £40.

Deposit for a custom tattoo is £80.

If you cannot attend you appointment please let me know as soon as possible. We can reschedule up to 2 times and this will not affect your deposit.

If you contact me within 48 hours of the appointment the deposit will be lost and a new deposit will be required to proceed.

If I have to reschedule (only ever in emergency or illness) and you cannot make another appointment date your full deposit will be returned to you.

Appointment Information

Each appointment starts at 10.30 am (if traveling by public transport please let me know and we can work with it!).

The length of the appointment is not a guaranteed finish time and will include time for small design adjustments, stencil placement, tattooing time, snack breaks for you and wrap time. Please don't book anything after your appointment, it's not something you want rushed after all!

Heartwood is a private handpoke only studio ten minutes drive out of Penrith towards Ullswater. It is by appointment only but I can sometimes make a same day appointment - if this is something you are looking for please ring and leave a message or contact me via Instagram.

I offer quiet appointments where chat can be kept to the minimum, please let me know if you would like this. 

Whilst I love a natter (getting to know people is one of the best parts of this job!) there will be sometimes when I need to be quiet and focused on your tattoo.
